PenTeleData’s ProLog Unleashed wireless Internet access hotspots do not use WEP or WPA encryption methods to secure information transmitted to and from your computer. This means that information including e-mail, web pages, and instant messages, transmitted to and from your computer while connected to a ProLog Unleashed hotspot is not protected unless you specifically use encryption technology.

Transmissions between your computer and SSL encrypted websites are reasonably secure. The ProLog Unleashed sign up and login pages are secured with SSL.

If you are concerned about security while using a ProLog Unleashed hotspot, you may wish to use Virtual Private Networking (VPN) or other encryption technology to secure your sessions. ProLog Unleashed hotspots support VPN—if your employer has a VPN, you may connect to your corporate VPN for optimum security; otherwise, you may wish to use another VPN or encryption method.
